Re: A place beyond Time
Stepping through the door felt like an eternity, just moving through it one could feel pressure, as if their skin was being pulled taught over their bones. The whispers only grew louder as Razzak stepped through the unending hallway of darkness.
Finally he reached the other side, and found himself staring at a beautiful but intensely dreadful star scape. He stepped out of the doorway and was standing on a dark planet. There was no foliage and everything was black, but it did not appear to be caused by some cataclysm, no this planet he found himself on had always been this way.
Before he could take in all of his surroundings, Razzak found himself feeling that same sense of unease and dread that he felt in the office, turning back the way he came he found the doorway had disappeared and been replaced with a writhing mass of tentacles and limbs.
"Hello, Razzak. I've been expecting you."

A thousand and one questions
As Razzak finally emerged from the unending darkness he gazed upon the dead world. For the first time in his life, as he gazed upon the rolling barren plains and the unending stars scape, Razzak felt small. He was large by lizardfolk standards, perhaps the largest there ever was, but compared to all of this he might as well have been a spec of dust.
He might have stood, staring into the emptiness of space for the rest of his life but his feathers began raising themselves. His muscles tightened, he bared his fangs and quickly turned around to behold a monstrosity. As soon as his eyes met the abomination he brought his fists up to his face, putting up a guard against the first attack. He would keep his distance, test its range, find any weaknesses it had.....but the attack never came instead the being said
Razzak looked at the abomination and replied, making sure to maintain his guard:
"Are you the creature from the office? If so I have questions....Many questions.

Re: A place beyond Time
The creature was in constant motion. His tentacles writhing and slithering about. Somewhere from within the mass of tentacles a sound resembling a laugh echoed out. "Yes I am the one you met in the office. I know you have questions, of course, that's why you are here. So go on, ask away."

Re: A place beyond Time
Razzak began with simple questions: what were the palefaced creatures he met in the office, were fights in the arena to the death, if not how was a winner decided?
Then they began to become more complex: Who, no what was this creature before him, what were these guilds and what did they gain from the fighters, what was THIS particular plain that the abomination had brought him to, why had the Souleater brought him here?
Finally, he asked the first question that came to his mind after he entered this plane. The last thing he wanted to know before he began his fights in the arena:
"Did we win? Was the rebellion successful? Did we finally kill the last of the darkfolks and claim our freedom?
As he asked this he finally dropped his guard and looked at the writhing mass of tentacles. He was ready for the answer, for better or worse.

Re: A place beyond Time
The mass of tentacles never stopped moving for an instant. Razzak thought he could feel something probing around in his mind as he searched for the words to say to the strange creature before him. Nyarlothotep answered Razzak's questions:
"As I said in the office, my name is Nyarlothotep. There are many that consider me a god, although my predilection for titles has no need for something so...trite. I am known as the crawling chaos, the being with 1,000 forms. What stands before you is my true form. I am an entity that existed before time itself, and even then there are those of my kind that existed long before I was even conceived of."
He gestured with one grand tentacle at the space around them, "You currently stand on a planet that I have plucked out of the time stream. I won't bore you with the details, but the long and short of it is that you are currently outside of time and space as you know it. As for why you were brought here by that entity you call a soul eater, it's simply because you were strong. Nothing more, nothing less. Only the strong are brought to the Everclear arena so that they might fight for the favor of the gods. We all have different reasons for wanting to bring warriors into our guilds. But the one thing that connects all four guilds, the one thing that drives all of us more than anything else: POWER." The last word seemed to reverberate all around Razzak, coming from everywhere and nowhere all at once. "We want power over you mortals, we want power over the realms and kingdoms we watch over, but most of all we want power over each other. No one wants to be on bottom when the 'winner' of all of this is decided."
He looked at one of his tentacles, a small wrist watch had appeared on it. "I would love to tell you more, but unfortunately it looks like we're out of time here. Let me give you something for your troubles." A tentacle reached out and forced something into Razzak's hands. It looked like a small, black, wooden dowel, it somehow emanated ill intent but otherwise seemed to have no special properties that could be perceived by the naked eye. It had a pattern as though it was black marble, and it was cold to the touch. "When the time comes, that will become the weapon you are most proficient with. It won't be anything fancy I'm afraid, something simple like a short sword, a shield, an axe. Something of that nature. Unfortunately those damnable dragons don't allow us to stack the deck to much in our favor for these fights. At least not until someone has actually joined the guild proper. Once it becomes that weapon you're stuck with it. Like I said, if you want the good stuff you'll have to come see me once you've gotten a few wins under your belt. But that's it for now, Ta-ta!" A single tentacle slithered out and pressed against Razzak's forehead, nothing happened for a moment, and then suddenly there was an earth shattering screech that seemed to be coming from inside Razzak's head. He felt his body fold into itself like it was made of paper and he disappeared from the dark planet's surface.
(Razzak will awaken just outside Morrigan's Grove. He'll be frazzled but otherwise unharmed.)
